I just saw a cartoon published by your paper on 5/14 depicting China as a big rat with its tail broken by an earthquake. This is a tasteless and senseless act considering the current circumstances in China, with tens of thousands of people killed by the natural disaster and millions left homeless and a billion people grieving. Whoever had the audacity to draw such a cartoon should be ashamed of himself/herself and whoever in your editorial staff approved its publication deserves to be soundly condemned! Your callous act will not go unpunished for there are 1.3 billion Chinese who will see this picture tomorrow all over China and your paper's name will be forever etched in the Chinese psyche as a symbol of Western insensitivity and arrogance. What you have done is a huge disservice to peace and understanding and tolerance among peoples of different ethnicities and cultures! You have added to hatred in this world, for many, many Chinese people will be angered by this cruel insult and will hate you for creating it! Think hard about what the consequences will be and start apologizing immediately! You will regret it even more if you don't! Get your life vests! The waves of wrath are coming!
